Candidates must start campaigning for votes
Published Wednesday, July 16, 2008
The qualifying period is over for municipal elections, and now the community can focus on getting to know the candidates.
Now that everyone who plans on running has qualified, the candidates can begin campaigning for votes.
We want this election to be based on who can best serve their city.
We hope all those who qualified only have one goal in the election — to improve the quality of life for those in their community.
Between now and the election, we want the voters and the candidates to focus on the issues important to the community.
We encourage citizens to get to know the candidates, and find out what the candidates plan to do if elected.
We also encourage the candidates to get out in the community and make a serious effort to meet the citizens and find out what changes they would like to see.
This election is important, and we want the best people in office to lead our communities.
