Crusader Day scheduled for July 27

Mrs. Evonne Tucker and sons of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Mary Trimble of North Carolina and Mrs. Gusann Weaver of Birmingham visited Mrs. Mary Ellen Trimble Wednesday when she was in the hospital at East Alabama Medical Center.
Mr. Jimmy Lee Heard is a patient in Bethany House in Auburn.
Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church homecoming was held Sunday, July 20, at 2:30 p.m. with guest minister, Rev. Walter J. Jones, pastor of Mt. Sinia Missionary Baptist Church in Auburn. The annual revival began on Monday, July 21 through 23 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Edward Milner, pastor of New Adka Missionary Baptist Church in Dadeville, as the guest minister.
A benefit program for Vanessa Wilson was held Saturday, July 19 at 6 p.m. at Ebenezer District Center in Camp Hill. Rev. Rick Gilber and the Mt. Nebo Community Choir of Eclectic, was the guests. Rev. Stacy Stroud of Goodwater was the emcee.
Deacon Jacory Calloway preached his first sermon Sunday, July 20 at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Lovely Baptist Church.
The Rocky Mount A.M.E. Zion Church in Auburn held its annual revial July 14 through 18 at 6:30 p.m. Rev. Jerry Dowdell, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church, was the guest speaker.
The annual revival services at the Murray Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church was held July 21 through 23 at 6:30 p.m. Rev. Walter M. Smith, pastor of Derry’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, was the guest minister.
The Mount Lovely Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 115th church anniversary and homecoming on Aug. 3 at 2:30 p.m. the theme will be a Christian Family Relationship. Rev. Bernard Harris is pastor. Rev. George C. McCullough, pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Opelika, will be the guest minister. Everyone is welcome.
Mr. Dallas S. Pearson and wife Callie and grandson, Nichols Robert Pearson, all of Huntsville, spent Wednesday through Friday with his mother, Mrs. Geneva E. Pearson.
The Rowe family, Smith family and the Tinsley family had their reunion on Friday, July 18 through 20 at several locations. They enjoyed seeing loved ones from everywhere. There was plenty of food and great fellowship.
Mr. Tommy Hart is a patient in East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Mrs. Reba Jinks went with her daughter, Sandy and Ronnie Poe to Opelika Tuesday night to celebrate the birthday of her great-grandson, Will Rudolph. They ate at Moe’s Mexican at Tiger Town and went back to the house for cake and gift opening. A good time was had by all.
The general conference of the A.M.E. Zion Connection was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel July 16 through 20 in Atlanta.
The New Hope Missionary Baptist Church will have their annual Crusader Day on Sunday, July 27 at 11 a.m. Guest speaker was the Rev. Cameron R. Thomas, pastor, and Rev. Henry Cooker. Everyone is invited.
