Familiar Foes
Dadeville and Horseshoe Bend face off again in passing workout

The familiar rivals will compete against each other once again, but this time there’s a neutral party in the mix.
Dadeville, Horseshoe Bend and Handley high schools will play each other in a passing workout Thursday night at 6 p.m. Dadeville and Horseshoe Bend competed in a similar workout July 8, and the Generals came away winning two of the three scrimmages.
Thursday’s scrimmage —which could also feature Wadley high school, will be “round robin” type of match, according to first year Horseshoe Bend head coach Jason Franklin.
“We’re looking to improve on the little things again,” Franklin said. “We want to get better overall, offensive and defensively.”
Although Franklin was proud of his team’s performance July 8, he still want to see how his team responds to the competition, although the team will not be wearing pads.
“It’s hard to tell without pads how the kids the respond to game situations,” Franklin said. “But I’m looking for the defense to improve their coverage skills and the quarterbacks to make better decisions.”
