Birthday wishes for Danyun Doss

Murray Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church observance of the second pastoral appreciation of Rev. and Sis. Benjamin Canon will be held Sunday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Charles Adams, pastor of Shiloh A.M.E. Zion Church in Auburn. Everyone is invited.

Happy birthday to Mr. Danyun Doss who celebrated his birthday on Saturday, Sept. 29. A party was given for him at his mother, Mrs. Linda Doss Avery’s home with about 50 family and friends helping him to celebrate. Everyone had a great time.

The home mission program was held at Murray Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church on Sunday, Sept. 28. The program was well attended. Mrs. Pearl Thompson was the speaker. Mt. Lovely Baptist Church was the guest church.

Mrs. Voncyle Harris is recovering at home after having surgery in East Alabama Medical Center.

On Sept. 25th nine members of Camp Hill Baptist Church toured the “Antiquity Center” in LaGrange, Ga. This is a replica of Jerusalem. The tour guide explained everything as we went along. We had a meal served in the eating room consisting of foods they ate in the Bible days. After completing the tour we returned home. Those making the trip were Bob and Cheryl Daniel, Kay Daniel, Ann and Albert Hovey, Reba Jinks, Shelia Moore, Nita Phillips and Harry Daniel. The weather was beautiful and Bob Daniel did a good job driving the bus. Ann Hovey is the senior citizen director.
