Dadeville Police arrested two juveniles Monday, ending a string of alleged burglaries, which started in the middle of September.

According to Lt. David Barbour from the DPD a 15-year old and a 16 year old, both of Dadeville, were involved in the string that included burglary of three businesses with theft ranging from small to big ticket items and some of the items have been recovered by police.

“Some of it was big ticket stuff,” Barbour said. “It was various items from laptop computers and cell phones to cigarettes.”

The two juveniles were charged with 3 counts each of burglary in the third degree, one count of theft of property in the third degree, one count of theft of property in the second degree and one count of theft of property in the first degree.

Barbour said the subjects were taken to Lee County Juvenile Detention Center in Opelika and more arrests in the case are pending.

“There were 3 or 4 involved in the burglaries,” Barbour said.

Burglary in the third degree and theft of property in the second degree are both class C felonies punishable by up to one to 10 years in prison. Theft of property in the third degree is a class A misdemeanor punishable by not more than one year in prison and theft of property in the first degree is a class B felony punishable by anywhere from 2 to 20 years in prison.
