Ethel Rowe celebrates birthday with family, friends

Happy birthday to Mrs. Ethel M. Rowe whose birthday was Saturday, Aug. 30, but celebrated it on Sunday afternoon at Gliders on 280 Some 100 to 150 attended this dinner. There was family and friends from Dadeville, Camp Hill, Birmingham, Atlanta, Connecticut and Tuscaloosa. She received gifts, cards, telephone calls and lots of love form her family and friends.
Happy birthday to the following: Mrs. Sonya Pearson on Sept. 1, Mrs. Geneva E. Pearson on Sept. 1 and to others who celebrate their birthdays in September.
The Opelika District Fifth Sunday fellowship meetings was Sunday, Aug. 31 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Ester A.M.E. Zion Church in Tuskegee. Rev. Linda Wright is pastor. Dr. A.L. Wilson is the presiding elder.
Joyce Neff, sister of Reba Jinks, has returned to her home in Columbus, Ohio after a three week visit. While here they visited relatives and friends that she doesn’t get to see often. It’s lonesome around here without her.
Mary Langley and her niece, Bonnie Strength, attended a cook-out at the home of Jean Henderson, mother of Debbie Langley, Sunday afternoon on Lake Martin. Food and fellowship was enjoyed by all.
