Win: DHS freshman Rae Williams hits the ball over the net Monday in the Lady Tigers’ win over Beulah.
Dadeville wins third straight
DHS volleyball beats Beulah for area title, will face Northside at M.A. in regionals Saturday

The Dadeville volleyball team kept its perfect area record in place when it counted on Monday, knocking off the Beulah Lady Bobcats in four sets.
Dadeville won 25-21, 25-18 19-25 and 25-12. Senior Kayla Mayo was the MVP of the tournament, and Aaliyah Hatcher and Janie Moran were named to the all-tournament team.
The win was the third consecutive area championship for Dadeville.
“I think (winning three in a row) says a lot about our girls,” head coach Sabrina Milligan said. “They are athletes and they take pride in what they do. We don’t always play to our potential, but we can do some good things when we are.”
Milligan said she was happy with the play of Rae Williams and Kristavious Cox, as well.
“Rae blocked well when she got in position and Kristavious stepped up and got a couple of good hits for us,” she said.
The Lady Tigers will move on to the eight-team regional tournament on Saturday at Montgomery Academy. Dadeville will take on Northside, who lost to Cordova in the Area 8 finals. The match will be at 10 a.m.
If Dadeville wins, the Lady Tigers will face the winner between Trinity and Montevallo.
“Not many teams can say they’ve won three straight,” Milligan said. “The last two have been in 3A, but the first one was while we were still in 4A against Coosa, who always has a strong team, and Beauregard. For a school that has only had volleyball since 2000, I think that says a lot.”
