Mrs. Pearl Thompson celebrates birthday with friends

Mrs. Tammie Hatcher Tolbert of Union Springs visited her friend, Mrs. Mary Pearson Obecker in Camp Hill.
Happy birthday to Mrs. Pearl Thompson whose birthday was Feb. 1, 2010 and was celebrated with friends at the Senior Citizens Center in Camp Hill. Hope you have many more.
Mr. Will Evans is recovering at home after spending a few days in Lake Martin Community Hospital in Dadeville.
Mrs. Sallie Betty Stone and Mrs. Geneva E. Pearson attended the Opelika District Lay Council meeting last Thursday evening at 6 p.m. at the Auburn A.M.E. Zion Church. Mrs. Geneva E. Pearson is council president. Others attending the meeting were Mrs. Nancy B. Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Baldwin, all of Opelika, and Mr. Willie Talley of Columbus, Ga.
The Murray Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church will celebrate Deaconess Day on Sunday, Feb. 14, at 3 p.m. Rev. Annie R. Cannon, pastor of Shady Grove and County Line A.M.E. Zion churches, will be the guest speaker. Everyone is welcome. Rev. Benjamin Cannon is pastor of Murray Chapel A.M. E. Zion Church.
