Good news indeed that the Tallapoosa County Commission is beginning to get control of its large debt. The commissioners are justifiably proud of the “Sejin story” and the much-needed jobs the plant brought to the area. Kudos to the Commission. Read story

As I ponder the dilemma we find ourselves in over gambling in our state, I found it quiet iconic that you had an anti gambling editorial letter within an inch of the lottery numbers from Georgia and Tennessee. This is a perfect example of our dilemma. Read story
State of the Lake to take place Oct. 25

Those interested in knowing just how clean Lake Martin is are invited to a “State of the Lake” presentation, sponsored by Lake Watch during its 17th annual meeting which will be held at the Elks Lodge (Elks Parkway near the Highway 280 Tallapoosa River Bridge) on Sunday, October 25, 2009. Doors open at noon with lunch (free to Lake Watch members) beginning at 12:30.
